Church & Nonprofit FAQs
Answers for churches, ministries, and nonprofits planning a new website or digital setup.
Ready to talk about your organization?
Book a free discovery call to talk through your goals, or email us at contact@disstrategy.com.
Book a Discovery CallWill our organization own its website, domain, and digital assets?
Yes. Once the project is complete and paid in full, your organization owns the finished website and the final brand assets we create.
Whenever possible, we set up your hosting, domain, and other key accounts in your organization's name, with your organization as the owner and billing contact. DIS Strategy is added as a collaborator to build and maintain the site, but your organization always holds the keys, so you're never dependent on a web designer to access your own digital presence.
Do we have to switch our existing email or technology?
No. If a system is already working well for you, such as Microsoft 365 and Outlook, we won't replace it just to move you onto another platform.
For eligible nonprofits, we may recommend enrolling in Google for Nonprofits, which gives you access to tools like Google Ad Grants. That doesn't mean you have to move your email. We'll review your current setup first and recommend the approach that causes the least disruption.
How will our website help someone decide to visit or get involved?
We design around the questions a newcomer is actually asking, not just the information your members or regular supporters already know.
For a church, that means service times, location, parking, children's programs, and what to expect are easy to find. For a nonprofit, it means clearly explaining your mission, your programs, and how to volunteer, give, or get help. We prioritize real photography, mobile-friendly design, and clear next steps.
Someone considering a visit this Sunday, or looking for your services today, shouldn't have to search to find what they need.
Can our sermons, videos, and livestreams appear on the website?
Yes. We can connect your YouTube channel to your website and organize your sermons or videos in a clean, easy-to-browse format. Livestreams can also be set to appear on your website automatically when you go live.
For churches that want their sermon archive to update on its own whenever a new video is published, DIS Strategy also offers an automated sermon integration with ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
What SEO is included with our website?
Every website includes foundational on-page SEO: page titles, meta descriptions, proper heading structure, image alt text, mobile optimization, and other technical elements that help search engines understand your site.
We also write your pages using the words people actually search for, like your type of organization, the ministries or programs you offer, and the community you serve. The goal isn't to rank across the entire internet. It's to help the right people in your community find you.
Can you help us show up in local Google searches?
Yes. Your Google Business Profile plays a big role when people search for things like “church near me” or “food pantry near me.”
We can set up or optimize your profile so your address, hours, photos, website, and other details appear accurately across Google Search and Maps.
What is Google Ad Grants, and can you help us use it?
Google Ad Grants is a program that gives eligible nonprofits up to $10,000 per month in Google Search advertising credit.
DIS Strategy can help eligible organizations through the setup process and use the grant to reach people who are actively searching for the programs, resources, or services you offer.
Do we need someone on staff who knows how to manage a website?
No. One of our goals is to lighten the technical load on your staff and volunteers. We can set up your site so your team can handle simple updates, or DIS Strategy can manage updates and maintenance for you on an ongoing basis.
What will you need from us to get started?
We'll walk you through a simple intake process covering your content, photos, branding, website goals, and the accounts involved in the project.
We may need access to existing accounts for your website, domain, YouTube channel, or Google presence. Whenever accounts are created or transferred, we set them up under your organization's ownership, not ours.
